INTERVIEW: Animal Humane Society Whisker Whirl gala returns

The Animal Humane Society is inviting people and their dogs to its annual Whisker Whirl gala to support programs that help pets and their owners.

The group said Whisker Whirl is set for Saturday, Sept. 12, at Quincy Hall in Minneapolis.

Organizers said many people know the Animal Humane Society for adoptions and pet surrenders, but the group also works to keep pets with their owners.

That includes free pet food distribution, community clinics, temporary pet housing, education programs for kids and humane investigations with law enforcement. The Animal Humane Society said events like Whisker Whirl help fund that work.
