‘I don’t trust any election ever done with a computer’: A look at the GOP candidates for governor

Mike Lindell says he’s misunderstood. 

Yes, the frontrunner to receive the Republican nomination for governor is best known for his false claim that Donald Trump, and not Joe Biden, won the votes necessary to be elected president in 2020. 

“Everybody knows the election was stolen. It’s, like, not news anymore,” Lindell said during a Google meet interview from his campaign office in Chaska on Friday. 

But Lindell said his election fraud assertions are not motivated by sucking up to Trump, whose endorsement last month slingshot him to favored status. Rather, Lindell truly is on the warpath against electronic voting machines. 

“I don’t trust any election ever done with a computer,” he said.

Minnesota uses optical scan to tabulate votes, including equipment from Dominion Voting Systems, a company that recently settled its defamation lawsuit against Lindell for undisclosed terms.
