Hugo man found guilty of killing his mother

HUGO, Minnesota — The man who killed his mother in Hugo two years ago has been found guilty and now faces a sentence of life in prison.

In September 2024, prosecutors say Trevor Joseph Wunderlich, 47, beat his mother, Charlene Gail Wunderlich, to death. Prosecutors say she had documented the abuse for years, and at one point sent him a message saying, “You are going to kill me some day if you don’t do something to help yourself get better.”
