How to keep your oak trees healthy

MINNEAPOLIS — That reliable oak tree in your backyard might need your help. 

Jacob MacDougall, with The Davey Tree Expert Company, visited KARE 11 News at Noon on Thursday to share what to look out for when your oak tree is suffering. 

MacDougall said fall is the perfect season to spot any stress or disease in your trees. Oak wilt can clog a tree's ability to drink water, and it is important to call an arborist as soon as you notice it.

Signs of oak wilt include leaves that suddenly wilt, turn bronze or drop from the tree when they are still partly green.
