Highway 59 crash near Pelican Rapids kills woman, alcohol suspected

The Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) is investigating a crash that killed one person in northern Minnesota on Sunday afternoon.

According to investigators, two cars collided on Highway 59 just north of Pelican Rapids.

After the crash, one of the drivers, a 51-year-old woman, was pronounced dead. The other driver, a 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital and the Minnesota State patrol now says that alcohol is suspected in the crash.

No arrests have been made as of Monday morning.

At the time of the crash, MSP says that road conditions were wet but they have not said what officially led up to the crash.
