WASHINGTON — Grammy-winning producer William Orbit, known for helping create hits with Madonna, Britney Spears, U2 and more, has died. He was 69.
“It is with profound sadness that the family and friends of William Orbit announce that William passed away at home on 23rd July 2026,” a statement shared by his family on his Instagram page said.
“He will be greatly missed by us and by so many whose lives he touched through his music, friendship and kindness,” the statement continued.
Orbit's career began in the early 1980s as a member of the electronic music trio Torch Song before he moved into music production.
