Georgia student dancing on couch falls 8 stories from apartment window

ATHENS, Ga. — A University of Georgia student is recovering from serious injuries after falling from an eighth-floor apartment window Monday, a spokesperson with the university said.

Police said the female student fell from a window at Rambler Athens, an apartment complex in downtown Athens, Georgia.

The student had been dancing on a couch before she fell from the window, police said.

Police said she was alert and conscious following the fall and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

In a statement, Rambler Athens said a resident fell from an open window and was transported by emergency medical services.
