Investigators found the club's funds were essentially drained while Virginia Hestekind was treasurer, court documents say.
CIRCLE PINES, Minn. — The former treasurer of a Lions Club in the north metro is accused of using the club's debit card for years to take out cash.
The Circle Pines Lexington Lions Club contacted investigators last September to report former treasurer Virginia Ilene Hestekind. A member of the board told investigators that between July 1, 2018, and June 30, 2025, $58,942.28 of unauthorized cash withdrawals were made.
"Over this period of time, the club's funds were essentially drained, leaving them unable to pay their recurring $100/month storage fee," the criminal complaint states.
