Former Stillwater Middle School employee accused of stealing more than $90K from school fund

STILLWATER, Minn. — A former employee at Stillwater Middle School is accused of stealing more than $90,000 from a fund intended for staff-related expenses and celebrations, according to court documents.

Danielle Elaine Heller, 40, of White Bear Township, is charged with a dozen counts of felony theft after investigators say she withdrew $90,613.50 between September 2017 and October 2024. According to court documents, another employee at the school told officers with the Stillwater Police Department that Heller admitted to taking money from the school's Sunshine Fund, which Heller oversaw.
