Final defendant sentenced in federal ring that brought fentanyl from Arizona to Minnesota

A major federal fentanyl trafficking operation that brought nearly 30 kilograms of fentanyl pills into Minnesota has come to an end after the last of six defendants was sentenced this week.

Amanda Jennifer Freeman, 38, of St. Paul, was sentenced on Tuesday to time served and two years of supervised release after court documents say drove a shipment of pills from Arizona to the Twin Cities on Feb. 5, 2024, and stored them at a rental property in St. Paul. The following day, law enforcement searched the residence and seized nearly 10 kilograms of fentanyl pills.

Her sentencing wraps up the case against six co-defendants in United States v. Shiloe Devanglo Nixon et al., who received a combined total of 45 years in federal prison.

According to investigators, the group helped source, transport, store and redistribute fentanyl pills from Arizona to Minnesota between September 2023 and March 2024.
