Feeding Our Future defendant sentenced to 33 months

A defendant in the massive Feeding Our Future fraud case was sentenced Thursday to 33 months in prison.

Ahmed Mohamed Artan pleaded guilty to wire fraud in June 2025. After nearly three years in prison, he will spend one year on supervised release. Artan is scheduled to turn himself in on Oct. 13.

Under the sentencing guidelines, he was expected to get between 33 and 41 months.

Artan and his co-conspirators are accused of using his nonprofit Stigma-Free International to open several food distribution sites under the sponsorship of Feeding Our Future throughout the state. Prosecutors said they also set up shell companies acting as vendors to supposedly provide food to the fraudulent sites.
