The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs executed a search warrant on Thursday at the Red Lake reservation.
In a statement to MPR News, FBI Supervisory Special Agent Matthew Vogel confirmed the warrant involved the tribal building known as Ombimindwaa Gidinawemaaganinaadog. Due to the ongoing investigation, Vogel declined to comment further.
Ombimindwaa Gidinawemaaganinaadog, formerly Red Lake Family and Children Services, means “uplifting all our relatives” in the Ojibwe language.
A statement released by the Red Lake Tribal Council said it is aware of the FBI activity and will provide an update once "additional information becomes available that can be appropriately shared with the public.”
