The Minneapolis Fire Department says it rescued a father and his son after they became stranded on a steep rock cliff near Minnehaha Falls.
According to the fire department, a call for help came in at 5:20 p.m. Saturday for two people stranded 75 to 100 feet below the trail near 48th Street and Minnehaha Avenue, south of Minnehaha Falls.
The two had been hiking in the park but became trapped on a slippery rock ledge and couldn’t safely climb up or down the cliff face.
Using specialized technical rescue equipment, the fire department rescued the father and son one at a time.
Neither had been injured.
