Eden Prairie man pleads guilty in hit-and-run that injured a toddler

An Eden Prairie man pleaded guilty Monday after a hit-and-run seriously injured a 2-year-old girl.

John Brecount, 65, pleaded guilty to a felony criminal vehicular operation charge for causing a crash that resulted in great bodily harm and then leaving the scene. He also pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor for bodily harm and leaving the scene.

In August of 2025, Brecount hit a mother and her two children who were being pulled in a wagon.
