NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Dolly Parton's voice has returned to fans for the first time since her death, with the release of "Bound to Ride," a song she recorded in 2022 for an upcoming tribute album honoring The Stanley Brothers.

Parton recorded "Bound to Ride" for "Where the Soul Never Dies: Celebrating 80 Years of The Stanley Brothers," an album featuring the all-female bluegrass supergroup First Ladies of Bluegrass. The song was released Sept. 9, and the full album is set to arrive Oct. 16.

Parton, who died Aug. 25 at age 80, recorded the traditional song to honor The Stanley Brothers, who popularized it with a 1964 recording.
