The city of Chaska is taking steps to redevelop the former Oak Ridge Hotel and Conference Center as police keep responding to trespassing at the vacant site.
The former Oak Ridge Conference Center and Hotel in Chaska closed in 2020 and has been vacant for about six years. City officials said the property has generated more than 100 police calls over the years for burglary, trespassing and property damage.

Chaska Community Engagement Manager Kevin Wright said police have dealt with break-ins at the property as so-called urban explorers keep showing up. He said the city is now taking steps toward a possible redevelopment.
