MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Minneapolis police are investigating a deadly shooting late Saturday night that occurred at a Green Line light rail station.

What we know:
Minneapolis and Metro Transit police were investigating the shooting at the Westgate train station shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday.
In a statement to FOX 9 overnight, police confirmed the shooting was deadly, and the victim was an adult but did not provide further details.
Video from the scene showed officers investigating on the platform and inside a train car.
What we don't know:
It's unclear why Minneapolis police are handling the case. The Westgate station is near the Minneapolis border but within St. Paul city limits. St. Paul police directed FOX 9 to Metro Transit police, who in turn told us Minneapolis police were the lead agency for the investigation.

Police said they will release further information later Sunday morning.
