Stroke isn't just a concern for older adults
A new study from the University of Cincinnati finds first-time strokes among adults ages 20 to 54 rose about 84% over nearly three decades.
Researchers tracked strokes in Greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky, which they consider a useful snapshot of the country. The rate climbed from about 34 cases per 100,000 people in 1993-94 to more than 62 per 100,000 in 2020.
