Cultural Destinations Day makes debut at the Minnesota State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair marked its second-to-last day with the first Cultural Destinations Day at Dan Patch Park. The event featured traditions, music, art and dance tied to some of Minnesota’s cultural festivals.

“Because that is what our theme is, enjoy culture and build wealth,” Bruce Corrie said.

Corrie, founder of Cultural Destinations Day, said the event is about experiencing culture and helping local immigrant businesses. 

“So they are all presenting here from Bollywood to Afrobeats to Salsa to Line Dancing, and a lot of them would like to be at the fair, and this is an opportunity for them to be at the fair and it is the number one fair in the nation!” Corrie said.

Aneta Toporowska-Lennartson of Slavic Experience was among the cultural businesses at Dan Patch Park. She is promoting 13 Slavic countries through the annual Slavic Experience festival in St. Louis Park.<...
