Couple sentenced for role in Feeding Our Future fraud scheme

A couple who pleaded guilty for their roles in the massive $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud scheme have been sentenced.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Wednesday that Mekfira Hussein, 42, was sentenced to nearly five years (57 months) on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and Abduljabar Hussein, 45, was sentenced to over three years (40 months) on the same charge.

The couple had previously pleaded guilty in early 2025.
