The DFL candidate for Minnesota's 1st Congressional District is criticizing his Republican opponent over a recent ad.

NEW ULM, Minn. — Congressional candidate Jake Johnson is accusing the incumbent U.S. Representative Brad Finstad of doctoring a photo of him for a campaign ad. 

According to Johnson's campaign, the ad shows an image of Johnson that was originally taken with a small business owner. But in the ad, it's made to look like Johnson was standing beside Gov. Tim Walz and giving a thumbs up to the camera. 

"The Finstad campaign is blasting this image out on the airwaves, despite being fabricated," the Johnson campaign said in a media release.
