‘Commiecrats,’ a snubbed candidate and ‘trade, not aid’ at Farmfest

Perfect weather and a backdrop of bursting corn and soybean fields took some of the edge off of a gloomy economic scenario for agriculture as candidates for the U.S. Senate took their turn on the dais at Minnesota Farmfest.

All of them, that is, except the GOP’s endorsed candidate, Adam Schwarze – uninvited because of low poll numbers – who looked on from the audience while fellow Republicans Royce White and Michele Tafoya and Democrats Angie Craig and Peggy Flanagan made their pitches to a packed house in the main pavilion.

Schwarze, snubbed because he had failed to reach 15% support in polls required by Farmfest organizers, told a reporter that “I’m the actual Republican candidate supported by the grassroots.”
