Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks have received their first true snowfall unusually late this year, marking a delayed start to the winter season.

COLORADO, USA — Colorado's tallest mountains have received their first true snowfall of the season.

KUSA viewer Raymond Pladgett shared a photo of snow on top of Mount Massive Tuesday morning, Aug. 15. The 14,421-foot peak near Leadville was covered in snow, reaching down to about 13,500 feet.
