The Chaska City Council approved a new liquor license enabling outdoor drinking at downtown events this fall and winter.
CHASKA, Minn. — The Chaska City Council voted Monday night to approve a liquor license that allows drinking outdoors at several downtown events this fall and winter.
Public drinking will be allowed in the area from Pine and Walnut streets to Highway 61 and First Street. It includes 12 different city events, starting with the farmers market on Sept. 10 and ending with Hometown Holiday on Dec. 5.
This is not technically a social district because the state has to formally authorize it, and right now only three cities in Minnesota are allowed to have social districts: Anoka, Shakopee, and Stillwater.
