Chaska police warn urban explorers: former Oak Ridge Hotel entry risks burglary charge

Chaska police are sending a stern warning to people trying to be “urban explorers” and go into the former Oak Ridge Hotel & Conference Center: don’t or face a potential criminal charge like burglary.

The department took to its social media to say that on Thursday afternoon, they responded to “another trespassing complaint” at the building.

It’s become a common occurrence, with police saying they have had more than 100 calls at the property over the past few years, with many of them for things like trespassing, property damage, burglary and other criminal activity. The building is not abandoned or open to the public, but is private property, police added.

There are surveillance cameras at the former Oak Ridge Hotel & Conference Center that building security watch. They reported the two young men who went inside the building on Thursday to police.
