A Faribault man is facing charges for allegedly stealing a Flock camera and trying to take it apart.
Justin Lee Campbell, 42, was charged in Rice County last week with one count each of interfering with emergency communications, theft, and fourth-degree property damage.
Law enforcement first learned a Flock camera had been stolen from the intersection of Lyndale Avenue South and Highland Place in Faribault in the overnight hours of July 27 after a man called to report the theft, according to the criminal complaint.
Court records say the man is a Faribault shop employee who contacted police to report that Campbell had brought a Flock camera into the store and was “bragging” about stealing the camera and his intent to take it apart.
The employee also told police that Campbell had come into the store hours before the theft, spoke about Flock cameras, and said, “I think I might take one.”
