A cellphone outage appears to be affecting multiple Verizon users across the United States.

According to Downdetector, a website that monitors reports of cellphone outages, starting around 3p.m., multiple Verizon users reported issues making phone calls or sending text messages. At its peak, Downdetector reported over 13,000 outage reports.

A spokesperson from Verizon said the company was aware of the issue and was working to address it:

“We are aware of an issue impacting voice services for wireless customers in some parts of the U.S. Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and resolve the issue. Please visit our Check Network Status page for updates on service in your area. We know how much people rely on Verizon and apologize for any inconvenience. We appreciate your patience.”
