Two St. Paul teens found dead in a car in June died due to carbon monoxide poisoning, police said.
On Friday, the St. Paul Police Department confirmed with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the identities of the teens as 16-year-old Karely Kimberly Gonzalez Veloz and 18-year-old Lean Joe Coello Coello.
The Harding High School students were found June 9 near the 2100 block of Wilson Avenue, where the car was running while the garage was shut. According to toxicology reports, they died from accidental carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
