Brooklyn Center daycare provider charged with manslaughter after baby dies

Prosecutors said the daycare provider noticed the baby was not breathing and waited 20 minutes to call 911.

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — A Brooklyn Center daycare provider is facing a manslaughter charge after a 7-month-old baby died on July 15, 2025.

According to charges filed Tuesday, Narcisa De Jesus Morales Deleg was providing in-home daycare services for the baby. She told police that she found the baby not breathing while sitting in a baby swing on June 30, 2025. 

The baby's mother told investigators that she went to pick up her baby from daycare and Deleg came to the door holding the baby, who was not breathing. Prosecutors say Deleg then questioned why the mother wanted to call 911.
