Bloomington shooting: 1 injured in Harriet Avenue incident

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (FOX 9) - The Bloomington Police Department is holding a 1 p.m. news conference Tuesday to address an overnight shooting on Harriet Avenue that left one minor injured.

Chief Booker Hodges will be joined by Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt, Edina Police Chief Todd Milburn and Eden Prairie Police Chief Matt Sackett at the news conference.

What we know:

Bloomington police responded at about 12:47 a.m. Tuesday to the 10000 block of Harriet Avenue on a report of gunfire. When officers arrived, police said they found multiple shell casings and one minor injury was reported.

What we don't know:

The Bloomington Police Department said the case remains under active investigation. The department also said no additional information is being released at this time.

Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt, Edina Police Chief Todd Milburn and Eden Prairie Police Chief Matt Sackett are expected to join Chief Hodges at the news conference after a series of recent shootings in their communities. It's not clear if shootings in Eden Prairie and Edina are connected to Tuesday morning's incident in Bloomington.
