Blaine gets pro baseball expansion team, massive development set to open in 2028

Blaine is officially getting a professional baseball team after the American Association of Professional Baseball announced that an expansion team coming to the north metro.

A massive new sports and entertainment district known as “The Farm,” will host the team in a brand-new 5,000-seat stadium which sits on a 70-acre, $750 million development.

The league has 12 teams with clubs from Canada to Texas and it was the home for the St. Paul Saints before they left in 2020 to join the Minor League system.

According to the American Association, the league’s TV audience is growing and leaders say it will exceed 20 million viewers in 2026.

“The Farm” is expected to open in early 2028.
