MINNEAPOLIS — Cooking recipes handed down from their family matriarch fill the souls of everyone working behind the counter at Maggie’s Food for the Soul.
“This is our third year now with the Black State Fair,” said Brianna Allen, Maggie’s Social Media Manager.
Allen said the business is named after her grandmother. She said her aunts and uncles wanted to keep her memory alive, so they started Maggie’s and started cooking her everything she liked.
“I love coming to this event because it’s the Black State Fair. “I’m Black, so of course I want to be a part of the beautiful Black excellence within Minneapolis. And on top of that it’s just really good to be out for us by us, so I love that about it too,” Allen said.
