Bear crawls through window and attacks Colorado woman in her 80s, latest in 'extraordinary bear year'

ESTES PARK, Colo. — A bear broke into a Colorado home through an unlocked but closed window and then attacked a woman in her 80s early Thursday morning, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

The victim reported that she woke up around 4:30 a.m. Thursday and found the bear in the kitchen on the second floor of her home in Estes Park, a mountain town near Rocky Mountain National Park. She said, according to CPW, that the bear charged her, scratched her across her stomach, and then knocked her to the ground.
