The DFL primary race for Minnesota’s open U.S. Senate seat heated up this week as Congresswoman Angie Craig and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan met in their final debate before the Aug. 11 election, clashing on issues of immigration enforcement and fraud.

Some drama flared up on the side, as State Sen. John Hoffman accused Craig of sending a surrogate to ask for his endorsement while he was in the hospital recovering from an assassination attempt. Craig’s campaign refutes Hoffman’s claims.
