HATTERAS, N.C. — A wedding on a North Carolina island turned into an unexpected community celebration after a nor’easter washed out part of a highway, leaving hundreds stranded and keeping the couple’s family and friends from making it.
Jayden Sink and Kimberly Laprand came to the Outer Banks expecting to get married surrounded by about 40 family members and friends.
