‘A clear choice for voters’: Hennepin County Attorney field narrows to Frazier, Folk

Cedrick Frazier and Anders Folk both advanced through Tuesday’s nonpartisan primary for Hennepin County Attorney, setting up a November race that will likely serve as a referendum on the progressive policies of Mary Moriarty, who chose not to run for re-election after serving a single term.

Frazier, the DFL and Labor-endorsed candidate who, like Moriarty, was once a public defender, has made his opposition to President Donald Trump and his policies a key plank of his platform, with signs screaming “PROSECUTE ICE” a prominent part of his campaign.

He’s endorsed by many of Minnesota’s more progressive politicians, including Attorney General Keith Ellison and Lt. Gov Peggy Flanagan, as well as mayors of suburbs like Golden Valley, Richfield, Brooklyn Park, St. Louis Park and Hopkins.
