WASHINGTON — A 68-year-old man from France died on Monday in Death Valley National Park, where temperatures reached 116 degrees, according to the National Park Service.
Pierre Michel Formosa and his traveling companion, both from France, were on West Side Road when their vehicle got stuck in mud in a remote area near Queen of Sheba Mine Road. The two decided to leave their vehicle and walk to find help, NPS said in a news release.
