A child drowned at Lake Minnetonka Regional Park on Saturday afternoon, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say that a bystander saw a 5-year-old in the pond, and lifeguards, along with multiple law enforcement agencies, removed the child from the water and provided lifesaving measures.
The child was brought to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead, the sheriff’s office said.
The drowning remains under investigation.
