4-H Day draws big crowds at the Minnesota State Fair

Minnesota 4-H members showed their work at the State Fair as kids and organizers highlighted youth leadership, livestock projects and hopes for agriculture.

The event featured 2,500 kids during 4-H Day at the Minnesota State Fair.

“It’s pretty nice to be up here, I like coming up to the state fair and seeing all of my friends and so this all kind of goes hand and hand,” said Alex Schroeder.

Schroeder was one of the kids showing livestock as fairgoers watched. 

Amber Greeley with the University of Minnesota said the event gives young people a chance to show what they have learned during the year. She is the director of state and county fairs programs.

“We’re giving the youth a chance to showcase the learning that they’ve been doing throughout the year and the state fair recognizes that and wants a place for the public to be able to see agriculture as well,” ...
