2 injured after a head-on collision on Highway 61, driver suspected of DUI arrested

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating an early morning crash that left two drivers with serious injuries near White Bear Township.

According to the state patrol, at 12:59 a.m., troopers were called to Highway 61 near Aspen Lane in White Bear Township, where a crash occurred.

The state patrol believes a northbound Honda CRV and a southbound Toyota Rav4 collided head-on. Both drivers were taken to the hospital for what investigators believe are serious injuries.

The Toyota’s driver, a 25-year-old woman, has been placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while under the influence, and a blood test in pending. The state patrol says she is currently not in custody while she is being treated at the hospital for her injuries.

The other driver’s condition was not provided.
